My work ranges from 2013 – present.
To create functional sculptures with clay or metal, I emphasize form, detail, how elements work together, impact on others, and connection to a place. I incorporate my experiences with those living in poverty in Greenville into my work, capturing the overcoming of hardships by working together. My work discusses hope, community, and the fitting together of elements, symbolizing the power of people. I focus on the concept of hidden treasures that are found within nature, if we take the time to look, leading to self-renewal. I am also using these overlooked elements of the environment to emphasize the importance of conservation and sustainability.
