Biography

I am a current ceramic artist and Post-Bac student at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. I enjoy teaching and emphasize environmental consciousness in studio work and curriculum. Where I am from in Greenville, SC, I am a member of a community studio and have developed curriculum for a variety of youth courses including mediums in ceramics, bookmaking, and sculpture. In 2021, I graduated from Furman University, Summa Cum Laude, studying Studio Art (concentrating in ceramics) and Sustainability Science. I received the Howerton Award for high standard of craftsmanship in Three-Dimensional Arts as well as the Excellence in Service Award from the Art Department. In addition, I was the Earth and Environmental Sciences Scholar Award Recipient and completed a year-long senior thesis on the role of sustainability in art education. I have completed two artist residencies and am pursuing a Master of Fine Arts degree.
